I have VERY strong nails, and so far the Fiskars scissors, made in Finnland were the only scissors that could take care of them. Generally, these are made to last a lifetime, the plastic handle is simple, functional. Usually the finish of both handle and metal is perfect - but it was not the case this time. When I opened the packaging, I thought there was a mistake. Although the color of the plastic was the same, the action of the scissors were also the "usual", the finish is more akin to a really cheap scissors. This is why i took away one star, and gave four because it works flawlessly.
If you want a really good little scissors that your child will still be able to use, then this is the one.

I love these little scissors. They sit right in the top bathroom drawer always ready for duty: cutting the little tags that come with clothing, a quick fingernail trim, that stray nose hair... whatever. I've had them there for years. I bought these to put in the kitchen drawer because I like the other pair so much. They seem to be identical build quality.

it says that these scissors are for fabrics and so on, but i use them to trim my facial hair and even give myself a random hair cut. these scissors are sharp and stay sharp for a very clean cut. pretty useful overall, whether you use it for what it's made for, or a personal groomer.
